 The Washburn County firewood permit allows you to collect dead firewood from County Forest lands only. It is the Permittee's responsibility to make sure that they are havesting firewood on County property. Harvest of any live tree is not permitted. Trees must be obviously dead and the permit defines a dead tree as missing at least 50% of the bark from the trunk. Any area under timber sale contract, whether or not harvesting activity is occuring, or any area established as a timber sale are restricted from firewood collection. If you have any question whether the area you want to collect firewood is a timber sale, please contact the Forestry office. |
